South African Songwriter & Rapper “Ricky Rick” has died.

BREAKING: South African rapper, singer and songwriter “Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado” has allegedly died by way of suicide.

Reports have emerged that the popular songwriter and record label owner’s lifeless body was allegedly found hanging in his home by close friends, who later rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

Rikhado “Ricky Rick” Makhado was the founder and owner of a record label created by his friend and colleague Shaun Buthelezi, called Cotton Club Records and founder of popular Hip-Hop event “Cotton Fest

The family of the rapper have not yet released a statement confirming his death nor have they furnished any further details regarding his passing. This however has not halted an overwhelming number of friends and the rappers followers and celebrities from setting social media walls ablaze with messages of shock, sorrow, condolences and support to the late rappers family through their social media posts.

Some followers and fans who are distraught by the news of his passing, have gone as far as blaming cyber bullying as the cause of the rappers distress and eventual suicide.

A video of the rapper emerged on social media and immediately trended on the 14 February 2022; Valentine’s Day, where he was seen engaging in what the public deemed as a rather uncomfortable or unhappy dance with his wife Bianca Naidoo, as a gesture of celebrating their love.

In the video the couple can be seen holding hands and engaging in a delicate love song, whilst the rapper was singing along and strutting his wife from side to side.

Some of “Ricky Ricks” followers started expressing their discomfort with the unusual behavior and reaction to the rapper from his wife, which they deemed as a sad, abused or even unhappy demeanour.

The rapper was known for popular rap songs such as Amantombozane, Nafukwa and Sondela. According to platforms such as Wikipedia, Riky Rick’s first side of music began at a recording studio session with Bongani Fassie. It was by Bongani’s side that Riky was inspired to make his own music. That is when he released his first single “Barbershop” featuring Da L.E.S.
