The trial against murder accused Ntuthuko Shoba has been postponed to 24 January.

Shoba who made a brief appearance on Monday at the Johannesburg High Court, is accused of hiring Muzikayise Malepane (31) to murder Tshegofatso Pule, who was allegedly his girlfriend at the time.

Shoba faces a schedule six premeditated murder charge.

Pule’s body was discovered hanging from a tree in Roodepoort in 2020, she was eight months pregnant.

At the time of her disappearance, her family had told media that the 28-year-old had gone to visit Shoba.

Shoba has previously claimed his life is being threatened from inside prison by the man already serving a 20-year sentence for killing Pule, Muzikayise Malephane.

Malephane agreed to killing Pule, he also implicated shoba in the murder saying he was following his instructions.

The state asked for a postponement, stating it needed to do re-imaging of cellphone evidence before the trial can proceed.
