The provincial government led by Premier David Makhura together with members of the Executive Committee conducted oversight visits in more than 15 schools.
The Premier together joined by MEC for Education, Mr. Panyaza Lesufi, MEC for Infrastructure Development, Tasheem Motara and other district and municipal mayors officially cut the ribbon, handing over the Setlabotjha Primary School to the Sebokeng community as part of the back-to-school activities to mark the 2022 academic year.
On Wednesday the premier officially opened the refurbished institution at Emfuleni. Part of the refurbishments were, the guard house, admin block, Grade R, foundation and intermediate phase classrooms, the library, science labs and nutrition centre.
Unveiling and the reading of the plaque was presented by the Premier, MEC Panyaza Lesufi, MEC Tasheem Motara together joined by Sedibeng Mayor Counsellor, Lerato Maloka.
“In 2022 we must do everything we can to return to a flying machine. No single school department or municipality has an excuse”, said Makhura.
Makhura announced on social media that all service delivery issues should be resolved and learners should get back to school.
“We want a province that’s pumping”, he concluded.
