The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) launched its campaign for the 2021 Local Government Elections in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg.
EFF leader, Julius Malema says it is difficult to hold political rallies as huge gatherings are not allowed.
Malema says they are confident they will win all municipalities.
“We are taking all the Metros, all of them starting with Ethekwini – we are taking all the municipalities. The ANC is dead and we are not going to wake up the dead. We are going to live like we are alone. We are cruising in these elections without any contestation. Any other thing it will be the courts, the IEC and the ANC against the EFF and we want to defeat them combined,” said Malema.
EFF head of presidency Sina Sinawo theye are going to try to ensure that regulations are adhered to.
“We are going to try our best to ensure that regulations are adhered to, but in an election, it’s a crazy time, it’s a place and time in which we must engage our people in a manner in which they see fit and in a manner in which we see fit as well, we can’t go to a war and be told how to fight it, so the EFF is going to go all out in this regard,” said Tambo.
South Africans are going to the polls on November 1, in line with the decision of the highest court in the land.
