The Gauteng Education department has once again reminded parents of the deadline to apply for grade 8.
The department says Phase 1 of the online applications comes to a close next week Friday, 3 September.
The department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona says close to 250 000 applications have been logged on the system.
“We urge parents and guardians who had already applied to remember they have 7 days to upload the required documents online or submit them at the school/s they applied to,” said Manona.
Mabona says parents who have applied are reminded to upload documents on time.
“We have noted that some parents and guardians need to be reminded that the application stages also include the submission of the requested documents to the selected schools on time. To avoid disappointment, we remind parents and guardians to furnish the schools they applied to with the documents as soon as possible,” added Mabona.
Phase Two applications will open on 13 September for parents and guardians of children going to Grade 1 and Grade 8 in 2022, but are not in a public school in Gauteng.
This phase will close almost a month later on 8 October.
