South African filmmaker, producer, actor and owner of Ferguson Films, Mr. Shona Ferguson, has been confirmed dead by his family through an official statement. The producer reportedly died from Covid-19 related complications. He was 47 years old at the time of his untimely passing.
Shona Ferguson, who is the husband of co-producer and actress Connie Ferguson, died on Friday afternoon at the Milpark private hospital in Johannesburg after being admitted 5 Days Prior to his passing, for a heart related surgery.

Ferguson Films and Family Social media pages have been going abuzz with messages of immense grief, condolences and disappear pouring in from the fans of the late Mr.Ferguson and his family.
Shona was well known and recognised for his many roles within the South African media, film and acting industry, such as his infamous role as Jerry Maake “Robocop” on the well sought after soapie, The Queen Mzansi, which airs on DStv Channel 161, Mzansi Magic.
First reports of Shona’s untimely passing emerged to the public through the publication on an article by popular independent newspaper SundayWorld. Which was initially deemed as fake news by the general public.

South Africans all over social media have expressed that they are left in a somber mood following Shona Ferguson passing and the several Covid-19 related deaths that’s have cost the country several loved ones in the past few months.
South Africa has seen a drastic period during their third wave as it has introduced a dramatic increase in Covid-19 related infections and deaths in the last three months.
