The Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) is looking for Ahmed Isa who was allegedly involved in a drug syndicate after cocaine worth R400 million was busted on the N1 highway in Pretoria earlier this month.
The cocaine was reportedly destined for both the local and international markets organised by a drug syndicate operating in the country.
It’s alleged that the 41-year-old man was linked to a drug syndicate, which was stockpiling large quantities of cocaine and exporting it to other countries.
Three more people have been arrested in connection with the alleged drug syndicate.
The additional suspects were linked through further investigation into a drug consignment and warrants of arrest were executed by the Western Cape Hawks’ South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB) team on Saturday 12 June 2021.
41 year old Isa, escaped arrest in his Cape Town residence, police say he is possibly armed and dangerous.
According to the police Isa is also wanted on an Interpol Red Notice issued in Belgium on charges of Dealing in Cocaine and Money Laundering.
He was last seen in Camps Bay, Cape Town.
The bust was made possible by the collaborative efforts from various crime busting elite organisations that include the FBI operation Trojan Shield and Australia, AFP operation Ironsides as well as the Hawks’ SANEB.
