All-time international leading goal-scorer Cristiano Ronaldo is desperate to take his Juventus performance to the international stage as they will face Hungary on June 15, 2021 at Puskas Arena in their opening match of the 2020 UEFA Euro competition in Group F.
The 2016 UEFA European Champions are one of the favorites to lift this year’s competition as most of their star players are in their prime years, such as Bernado Silva, and the Red Devil’s Bruno Fernandes.
However, all eyes will be on the 5-time World Player Of The Year winner Cristiano Ronaldo who managed to top the goal-scoring charts in Italy during the 2020/2021 season with 29 goals from 33 matches. The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner is Portugal’s all-time leading goal-scorer with 134 goals and he will go down as one of the best players of all time.
According to several news agencies in Italy, Update SA understands that the Portuguese might end his spell with the Italian giants Juventus.
“I have been playing at the highest level for many years, this doesn’t faze me. Maybe if I were 18 or 19 I might have had some sleepless nights, but I’m 36. Whatever comes will be for the best whether it be staying at Juve or being transferred,” said the former Manchester United starlet.
Despite being 36-years-old, Ronaldo is not slowing down as he continues to challenge his ageing body week-in-and-week-out in the Italian top-flight football. The 36-year-old became the first player in history to become the top-scorer in a season in England, Spain, and Italy.
The 5-times UEFA Champions League winner is also looking to become the all-time UEFA EURO Top Scorer having already registered 9 goals, breaking Michel Platini’s record.
