The Gauteng Department of Human Settlements is calling on the police to find the suspects responsible for the murder of one of their employees.
Teboho Makhoa (52), was found dead in his vehicle in the early hours of Saturday morning in Ekurhuleni.
More than 20 bullets were fired at the car.
Department spokesperson Tahir Sema, says they are calling for the apprehension of those responsible for the murder.
“We are in Great shock in relation to the senseless killing of one of our officials based in our Ekurhuleni regional office. We are calling on all law enforcement agencies to apprehend the killers,” said Sema.
Sema further said they are also calling on the community to refrain from spreading any rumors and misinformation.
Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina, said the Gauteng government official did not deserve to die in a hail of bullets.
“He did not work for the municipality. He was born and bred here, studied at Wits, came and stayed here and worked for the provincial government. He worked very closely with the City of Ekurhuleni. We hope that those who have committed the act will be apprehended.” Said Masina.
Masina described Makhoa’s murder as brutal and unacceptable, stating that those responsible should be brought to justice.
Police are investigating a case of murder.
