The Progressive Youth Alliance which includes the ANC Youth League, the SA Students Congress and the Young Communist League marched to the finance ministry.
The youth gathered in Pretoria to demand that ministers over 60 step down and let young people take over.
According to the youth senior citizens in the cabinet must also make way for their younger counterparts.
They are demanding that Finance Minister Tito Mboweni step aside within 30 days.
“We are concerned about by his arrogance and attitude especially by the decision taken by his ministry, which we believe they impact negatively on young people, for example cutting budgets that are meant to develop skills for young people, cutting education budget also cutting budget that is meant to stimulate economic activity so that young people can get jobs,” added the youth.
The youth further said the country cannot have law makers who are above 60 years.
