A traditional court in Zvimba, north of Zimbabwe’s capital, has ordered the wife of the late former President Robert Mugabe, to exhume the remains of her late husband.
Former First Lady Grace Mugabe was found guilty of going against customs and traditions when she buried her late husband at his homestead in 2018.
The court ordered that he must be reburied at Heroes Acre in Harare.
After the former president Robert Mugabe had died, he was supposed to have been laid to rest at the Heroes Acre in Harare according to the court.
A special grave next to his mother’s and his first wife had been reserved for the time he would pass.
Grace Mugabe refused to have her late husband buried at the National Heroes Acre and insisted that he wanted to be buried in his home village.
Grace Mugabe has been fined 5 cattle and a goat for a cleansing ceremony.
She has until 1st of July to appeal the court ruling.
