African National Congress (ANC) national chairperson Gwede Mantashe says members who are against the party’s ‘step-aside’ resolution must leave.
Mantashe said ANC is a voluntary organization and if some members don’t t like the rules, they are free to go.
The ANC chairperson was responding to members who said they were not satisfied with the resolution, and wanted the ANC’s NEC to reconsider the resolution.
Limpopo ANCYL is also among the complainants of the resolution, saying that it will divide the ANC further.
The ANC took a resolution in 2017 that those criminally charged to step aside, ANC’s Secretary-general Ace Magashule Magashule was charged with corruption over the failed multimillion-rand asbestos project during his tenure as premier of Free State.
Magashule has just days left to voluntarily step aside or face suspension.
