The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has apologized to beneficiaries for delaying the covid-19 social relief grant for March and April.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused and we think we should have done better if we did not have to obey certain protocols. We can assure you that, and try to make sure that each and every person gets what is due to them before month ends.” said letsatsi.
Sassa said the delay is due to the transition in the government financial year.
“We can confirm that by month-end people will be paid for both March and April,” added Letsatsi.
Letsatsi said the organization understands that people desperately need the R350.
President Cyril Ramaphosa had extended the special COVID-19 grant of R350 by another three months, during his State of the nation address 2021.
