ACCOUNTABILITY AT THE HEART OF TRUST

eNCA reporter Lindsay Dentlinger has come under fire for asking black politicians to wear their masks during interviews, while not doing the same when speaking to white male politicians.
Social media users have also weighed in on the matter, calling for the political reporter to be released from her duties for her alleged racist act and an apology from the news channel.
This follows a video footage of Lindsay Dentlinger interview with Freedom Front Plus leader Pieter Groenewald and the DA’s John Steenhuisen without their masks that surfaced on social media, while she requested several black political leaders, including UDM Chief Whip Nqabayomzi Kwankwa, to keep their masks on while speaking to her.
A statement released by eNCA, said Dentlinger’s actions were not racially motivated or intentional
#NotInMyName president Siya Jentile said Dentlinger’s actions were purely racist.
“We at #NotInMyName raise our hand among those calling for explanation and action from the broadcaster – which we hold in esteem as a responsible and proudly South African institution” added Jentile.
