Royal Bafokeng Queen Mother Semane Molotlegi Laid To Rest

The QUEEN MOTHER of the ROYAL BAFOKENG CLAN , Semane Molotlegi is being laid to rest this today. The funeral proceedings are currently morning, as she will be ushered to her burial site in Phokeng Village, outside Rustenburg, North-West Province.
Mmemogolo Semane Bonolo Molotlegi, mother of King Leruo Tshekedi Molotlegi, passed away last weekend at the age of 77, following a long illness.

The Bafokeng Queen Mother, Semane Molotlegi will be laid to rest in Phokeng village, outside Rustenburg, North West, on Saturday morning. The mother of the Bafokeng King Kgosi Leruo Moletlegi died last weekend at the age of 77 after a long illness.

Queen Molotlegi was the mother of the current Bafokeng King; Kgosi Leruo Moletlegi , as well as the paternal aunt of former Botswana President, Ian Khama.
A restricted few people will be allowed inside the Bafokeng Conference Centre, where the funeral service will take place.
The family has also made provision for those wishing to attend the Queen Mothers send off, by setting up eight viewing points in villages of the Bafokeng Nation. These viewing points will each strictly host a capacity of 200 people each, where community members will be watching the funeral proceedings, in line with COVID-19 protocols and restrictions.
