e.tv’s Rhythm City gets canned

Article by Lerato Moloi

It has been announced that one of e.tv’s long-running daily drama Rhythm City is coming to end after airing on tv for 13 years.

The finial episode will air on the 16th July 2021 at 19:00, and it will be replaced by another show.

Rhythm City is one of the series that constantly ranked in the top 10 most watched daily soapies in the country, and it peaked at almost 5.2million viewers this year.

According to Marlon Davids, MD of e.tv, canning the show is part of the business strategy.

“e.tv continues to look forward to fulfilling its mandate of producing exceptional and relevant local content, and the production has successfully achieved its part of the obligation throughout the past 13 years. Rhythm City has secured its place in e.tv’s history books, and a legacy mark has been made. We want to extend our gratitude to the entire production staff, crew, and cast for their incomparable craft,” he says.
