BreakingNews: Legendary Radio Personality and Media Veteran Mr Khomotso “Bob” Mabena has passed away this afternoon after suffering Cardiac Arrest.
A source close to the family has; this afternoon confirmed the passing of the highly idolized and loved Presenter of the Power 98.7 Breakfast show, Mr.Bob Mabena. Bob was popularly known for having produced and hosted some of South Africa’s biggest radio shows during the course of his career, which spans over 30 years.

“He was admitted to hospital on Saturday and was discharged this morning (Monday). On his way home, he experienced more pain and they went back to the hospital. When I arrived at hospital, he was in ICU. Mrs Mabena was called into the room when they pronounced him dead.” said Power FM chairman Mr. Given Mkhari.

Bob Mabena has over the years solidified himself as a brand, with his media career dating back to as far as 1998. The Bob Mabena brand has contributed to shaping the South African Radio and Television industry extensively, with huge success over the years.
Mabena was the station manager and anchor of the “Power Breakfast” morning show from 6am-9am on weekdays at Power FM 98.7.
Mabena also worked in radio and broadcasting at institutions like Metro FM, Heart FM, 947 and The SABC. He also served as the Group Head of Programming at MSG.
