Residents for Shallcross Informal Settlement, Durban, took to the streets to protest for food parcels and water on Sunday.
The residents have been sent a water tank after the protest and the local councillor urged residents to apply to SASSA for food parcels during this difficult time.
The residents blocked Link Road; demanding water, which they say they haven’t had in over a week – and that’s concerning for them as they’re also at risk of contracting Covid-19 due to the lack of resources to maintain their hygiene.
