A perfect secret Wedding turned into a perfect arrest when wedding bells and police sirens clashed today at eNseleni, outside Richards Bay, as 50 wedding-attendees were arrested and will now dance to the clanks of their shackles.
The bride and groom, who inspite of the lockdown rules set out by the president, find themselves and their 40+ guests detained at Empangeni Police Station and will be charged with contravening the National Disaster Management Act & lockdown regulations.
Videos and images of the arrest have gone viral on social media.

National Police Spokesperson Vish Naidoo reminded South Africans that weddings are strictly not allowed during the nationwide lockdown. He also urged South Africans to appreciate the gravity of these regulations and adhere by them as this would be the result of disobedience.
Other arrests in KZN include another bridal couple from Ematshenezimpisi that was arrested during their wedding ceremony, and later released on R1000 bail each.
