Jerome Boateng has been fined by his club, Bayern Munich for leaving the city without permission, more especially under the country’s circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic.
The defender abruptly left the city to rush to his son who had sustained minor injuries in an accident that occurred on Tuesday. Boateng realised that he was to have informed his club but told Bild newspaper that his priority was his son’s well-being.
The club’s guidelines disable players to go too far from home, and are in place to ensure that players adhere to the government’s regulations that have been set-out to fight Covid-19. Boateng’s transgression of these guidelines has resulted with him being slapped with a fine.
It is unknown how much the defender has been fined, however this amount will be donated to local hospitals.
